Student Leader always accepts self-nominations from any outstanding student interested in appearing on the cover. In addition, we regularly conduct a search of our own. Usually, we try to find a specific type of leader to feature a segment of our readership that may have been underrepresented in the past. Read comments from a recent student on what appearing on Student Leader's cover meant to her.

While this selective process solicits nominations from leaders of specific organizations, it is not meant to exclude students from being eligible. All nominations will be considered. In addition, we always find other ways to feature cover applicants inside the magazine and share their expertise with our readers.

By conducting a deliberate search for various types of leaders, we ensure that each cover winner represents a different segment of our readership and proves that outstanding leaders come from all walks of campus life. We strive to show that the capacity for great student leadership isn’t limited by age, size, location, gender, ethnic origin, type of college or student group, or any other classification.

Campus leaders selected for previous covers have been picked for their excellence in Greek life, campus journalism, minority affairs, community service, residence life, and other areas. Find out more about students previously featured on the cover of Student Leader magazine.
